Zemirah Ashae “AVANNI” Thomas

Emerging artist, Zemirah Ashae Thomas also known as “Avanni” is a 16 year old Columbus, Ohio native. Avanni is the second youngest of 6 siblings and is a rising sophomore at Fort Hayes Metropolitan Education Center.  

From a very early age Avanni displayed a natural gift for visual arts and her talent and skill have developed over the years.  Avanni works in various mediums ranging from digital, clay, painting, and pencil drawing. She has utilized all of these art forms to create amazing works that include art installations to costume and fashion designs.  She believes that some of her “best art” is when she just doodles.

Avanni currently is a member of the City of Columbus APPS program and has been placed to work with GetCR8V as a student intern.   At GetCR8V she is tasked to use her talents on various projects that she feels “always stand for something.”  Avanni creates art that represents something and ideas of a project she wants to make in the future. She is at a point with her art,  where she can draw anything she puts her mind to.
